It’s the last few hours before the trip, and we Mench is furiously packing while I, er, check to make sure that our blogging platform is working properly for our updates during the trip.
As with any trip, I bring a few books along to make sure that I get to read something interesting during flights and other idle times. So, here are the books that I’m bringing on this trip:

Hot, Flat and Crowded by Thomas Friedman: There’s nothing better to announce to the world that you’re an enlightened proponent of globalization than lounging around airports reading a Thomas Friedman book.
For the more serious reader, Friedman offer some very interesting insights about the entire world that we live in today, not just the corners that we’re familiar with personally or see on TV. And his conclusion is exactly that: The world is hot, flat, and crowded, and we need to do something about it.

The Knack by Norm Brodsky and Bo Burlingham: I’m a big fan of Inc. magazine, and the books that its writers have put out: Alpha Dogs and Small Giants (the latter also by Burlingham). Norm Brodsky is of course, everyone’s favorite columnist from Inc. as he gives out advice to small business owners primarily culled from his own experience. I was about to bring a really large book about Warren Buffett, but Mench took one look at it and said I had to find a smaller one - it must have weighed a couple of pounds. So I was really pleased to see this book on the shelves and bought it immediately. As entrepreneur who’s always had to find a way, I know I’ll enjoy this book.

The Year of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs: On the lighter side, I bought a book about a guy living in New York City who decided to live literally according to the Bible for one whole year. How do you stone adulterers in modern day Manhattan? I guess I’ll get to know once I read this book.
But yes, this trip is supposed to be a honeymoon, and we’re supposed to be traveling, not reading! I will try my best not to finish these books as we go out and do all of the activities related to the honeymoon. We’ll be taking pictures of ourselves with the items that you’ve pledged for - watch out for it starting tomorrow!
